The new Victor Richardson gates were made of polished reconstructed granite and sandblasted spandrels. The three grandstands were made with precast concrete columns supporting  the sloping beams and seating plats.

Each of the sloping beams weighed in excess of 30 tonnes and were delivered to site in a special frame

The sloping beeams were made from brightonlite cement and then lightly sandblasted
